AOD-9604 is a synthetic fragment of human growth hormone designed to preserve the hormone’s lipolytic domain without producing the same growth/IGF-1 effects. The protocol describes it as acting directly on adipocytes to promote breakdown of stored triglycerides and to inhibit new fat storage processes. Over longer exposure, AOD-9604 is reported to upregulate β3-adrenergic receptors in adipose tissue, a pathway associated with thermogenesis and fat mobilization, especially in contexts where these receptors are suppressed by obesity. Unlike full-length hGH, AOD-9604 is characterized as having minimal impact on IGF-1 and not driving insulin resistance, which contributes to the favorable tolerability noted in human studies. In short, it is positioned as a targeted metabolic modulator that supports fat-loss signaling while maintaining a comparatively neutral endocrine profile.
Occasional mild injection-site reactions (redness/itching)
- Use aseptic technique: wipe vial stopper with alcohol; use new sterile syringe/needle
- Add diluent slowly down the vial wall to minimize foaming
- Gently swirl/roll until fully dissolved (do not shake)
- Label vial with reconstitution date and concentration; protect from light
- Refrigerate after reconstitution (commonly 2–8 °C) unless protocol states otherwise
- Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles
- Bacteriostatic Water for Injection contains benzyl alcohol preservative (multi-dose); follow protocol for beyond-use (many peptide protocols use ~28 days after mixing)
- Avoid benzyl-alcohol-containing diluents in neonates/infants (safety warning for benzyl alcohol)
