GHRP-6 is described as a ghrelin mimetic that binds the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) in the pituitary and hypothalamus. This receptor activation promotes acute, pulsatile growth hormone release and is also described as reducing somatostatin’s inhibitory influence, thereby allowing stronger GH pulses. The protocol highlights that physiologic feedback remains active: as GH and IGF-1 rise, endogenous counter-regulation helps prevent excessive hormone elevation. Beyond endocrine effects, GHRP-6 is also presented as interacting with CD36 receptors on immune and muscle cells. Through that pathway it can activate cytoprotective signaling cascades (e.g., PI3K/Akt) that may reduce oxidative-stress injury and inflammatory damage in preclinical models. The combined concept is dual-action: endocrine GH-pulse stimulation plus non-endocrine tissue-protective signaling.
Transient mild increases in cortisol/ACTH
Increased appetite
Water retention
Injection-site reactions (redness/itching/swelling)
Transient dizziness or flushing shortly after injection
- Use aseptic technique: wipe vial stopper with alcohol; use new sterile syringe/needle
- Add diluent slowly down the vial wall to minimize foaming
- Gently swirl/roll until fully dissolved (do not shake)
- Label vial with reconstitution date and concentration; protect from light
- Refrigerate after reconstitution (commonly 2–8 °C) unless protocol states otherwise
- Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles
- Bacteriostatic Water for Injection contains benzyl alcohol preservative (multi-dose); follow protocol for beyond-use (many peptide protocols use ~28 days after mixing)
- Avoid benzyl-alcohol-containing diluents in neonates/infants (safety warning for benzyl alcohol)
